Tesco Vouchers

The school is presently collecting Tesco vouchers for schools and we would appreciate if you could send any vouchers that you receive in your shopping into the school office.

Basketball Club

We have secured the services of a basketball coach for an after school Basketball club beginning on Tuesday 13th of April from 3pm until 4pm. This club will be open to all children from P5, 6 and 7 and because it is run by Youth Sport will cost £1 per child per week.

Swimming Lessons

We have managed to secure another series of swimming lessons next term for the children from Primary 4 – 7. The children made such good progress in their last set of lessons that we felt it was important to back this up as soon as possible. Primary four and five’s lessons will begin on Thursday 15th of April and will continue for 5 weeks.

Drama Classes

Drama classes will begin for those children in Primary 1,2,3 and 4 on Wednesday 14th April. Primary 1 and 2 will have their classes at 1.15 until 2pm and will go home at the normal time. Initially we were going to charge children for the classes but the Parent Support Group have generously offered to fund the sessions. Anyone who has already paid for the classes will be refunded.

On-Line Activities

At the bottom of the blog page you will find new interactive activities in English, Maths and Science to help your children in the work they will be covering in school. These activities will be changed regularly to try and meet the abilities of all the children.

ICT Accreditation

The children in Primary 7 are taking part in the ICT Accreditation Scheme which involves the children completing a number of ICT projects and attaining an overall level of achievement in ICT. The accreditation scheme has undergone a complete remodelling and the projects will involve the children’s participation in areas such as internet research, movie making and working with images and sound.
We have decided to run an after school ICT club to facilitate this scheme on Tuesday afternoons from 3pm until 4.15pm. I would ask that all children in Primary 7 take part in this scheme as it offers an excellent chance to develop key skills in this area.
